The tomato has a hybrid of the same name of the first generation "Raspberry Giant F1", which is somewhat different in quality characteristics.
The varieties are slightly inferior to hybrid plants in some properties (size, taste, weather resistance, disease resistance, etc.). But hybrids require more attention and have a clear disadvantage - it is impossible to get a good harvest from their seeds for the next year, unexpected negative results are possible.
Tomatoes "Raspberry Giant" is a determinate variety that does not require growth adjustment - no need to pinch growth points. By the type of bush - not a standard one. Read about indeterminate varieties here.
Standard varieties of tomatoes are small in size, compact in shape, which does not require pinching. The root system is poorly developed. The stem of the plant is strong, persistent, well leafy, with a height of 50 cm to 100 cm, on average about 70 cm. Brushes are of a fan type, there can be up to 12 of them on a bush.
The rhizome is well developed, it grows violently in all directions without deepening. The leaves are dark green in color, large in size, the shape is typical for tomatoes. The structure is slightly wrinkled, without pubescence. The inflorescence is simple, intermediate type. The first inflorescence is formed over 5 - 6 leaves, then go with an interval of 2 leaves. There are 6 - 8 flowers, you should not pick it off. The peduncle is articulated. Large fruits hold up perfectly. By the degree of ripening "Raspberry Giant" is an early ripening variety. The fruits on the plant do not crack. Has few seeds.
The crop can be harvested 90 days after the emergence of the main shoots. It has an average resistance to common diseases: Alternaria, Fusarium, Verticillosis. Late blight does not have time to get sick, since the harvesting period begins before the onset of temperature changes. Growing is permissible in the open field with the presence of a temporary shelter and in greenhouses. Tomato variety "Raspberry Giant" has an excellent yield - from 6 kg per plant, from 18 kg per 1 sq. M.

Advantages and disadvantages
Has a number of advantages:
- early maturity;
- large fruits;
- marketable condition;
- high productivity;
- resistance to disease.
No shortcomings have been identified, sometimes nuances occur in the form of isolated cases of diseases.
Shape - rounded, flattened at the top and bottom, medium ribbing. Fruits have a presentation, grow approximately the same size. The dimensions are large - in diameter from 10 cm, weight about 200-400 g, sometimes more.

Seeds for seedlings must be disinfected in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. After 2 hours, rinse with warm running water. Soils are chosen loamy or sandy loam, should be well enriched with air, fertile with a low level of acidity and also decontaminated. The seeds are advised to be treated with various growth stimulants.
In late March or early April, the seeds are sown in a common wide container to a depth of about 2 cm, the distance between the seeds should be at least 2 cm.The soil should be warmed up to at least 25 degrees.
The soil should be lightly compacted, sprinkled with warm water and covered with a material that does not allow evaporation. Polyethylene, plastic, or thin glass will do. The moisture formed in the container has a beneficial effect on germination. The temperature should be at least 25 degrees.
Remove the cover after most seedlings emerge. Place the seedlings in a bright place. Watering as needed. When 2 well-developed sheets are formed, a pick is carried out into separate containers of 300 ml each.
REFERENCE. Picking necessary for the development of an individual root system and plants in general.
You can fertilize with mineral fertilizers. A week before disembarking to a permanent place, the seedlings are hardened - they open the vents for several hours or take them out to the balcony.
At the end of June, the seedlings are completely ready for transplanting, the color of the stems at the roots acquires a bluish tint. Seedlings are planted at a distance of 50 cm from each other. A mullein or other fertilizer should be placed in the holes. Fertilizers are best added with a phosphorus content, tomatoes love it.
Watering as needed, abundantly, at the root. Loosening and weeding as needed. Top dressing is carried out several times per season.
Pasynkovaniya requires partial, a bush is formed in 2 stems, side shoots are removed. Tying in the presence of large fruits to vertical trellises. Mulching will help control weeds.
For growing tomatoes "Raspberry Giant" in the open field, the most favorable will be the southern and southwestern regions of the Russian Federation and adjacent to the southern border of the country.
